On December 23, 2023, the consortium of PT Indika Energy Tbk and Infraco Asia Development Pte., Ltd was awarded with the Letter of Intent (LOI) as part of the East Cluster of the De-Dieselization Project – a 102 MW Solar PV + 252 MWh Battery hybrid Eastern parts of Indonesia, including but not limited to: Sulawesi, Maluku and Nusa Tenggara.Within this De-dieselization project, PT PLN (Persero) will cooperate with PT Indika Energy Utama Tbk. and Infraco Asia Development Pte., Ltd.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo hopes that this project can reduce the footprint and large costs associated with the current 5,200 PLTD spread throughout 2,100 locations. As quoted “”Through the dedieselization program, he said, the Diesel Power Plant (PLTD), which previously served the needs of the people in isolated areas, will gradually be shifted hybridly using new and renewable energy (EBT) from Solar Power Plants (PLTS),” Darmawan said as quoted on Saturday, December 23.
